Anacostia

The Character:
Historic Anacostia is home of the Frederick Douglas House and the Big Chair and has not been on the radar of most. And for good reason. Long-standing dilapidated buildings and underdevelopment, not to mention that it seems like it’s been caught in a time bubble since like, the early 1980s. But don’t sleep on Anacostia. It’s an old player with new game. Lots of new commercial and residential development from major developers and small investors alike. Brand new condo units with take-notice features and square footage. Average median sales prices are also up and rising. Not so much however that it’s over-priced and saturated. Anacostia has some stunning homes, old and new, and its price-points make it a great area for home, and excellent for investment.
