The Character:
With the arrival of the new and swank WholeFoods Market, renovated Giant Food Store and REI Outdoor Retailer, H Street has gotten a gargantuan face-lift and new attitude from the long-time, weather beaten façade, that lacked curb appeal. H Street has come a long way commercially in the last several years with major and minor players excited to become a part of the community. Major commercial development with well-known and familiar retail, restaurant, and household names as vibrant new faces in the neighborhood, and a corridor that is now hot…for day activities, shopping, lunch, errands, as well as night nightlife. Lots of new and wonderful small business owners providing much needed flavor, diversity and compliment to a community of beautiful townhomes, and new condo development. The city has invested millions of dollars in the revival of the H Street Trolley along the corridor.
